FTA: Corporate tax registration deadline for individuals is March 31, 2025
HTIC Global

The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of the UAE encourages all natural persons who are subjected to corporate tax to submit their tax registration applications for corporate tax by March 31, 2025, to avoid administrative penalties. You can approach the best tax services Dubai and the UAE for registration and all other seamless procedures.

The FTA has already released a handbook on the Registration of Natural Persons (CTGRNP1) to increase knowledge on the registration of natural persons for corporate tax. According to the FTA, a “natural person” is any living individual, regardless of age, who resides in the UAE or somewhere else. A natural person would only be liable for corporate tax if they were conducting business or business activities in the UAE.

This comprises sole establishments as well as individual partners in unincorporated partnerships that are running a business or business activity in the UAE. According to the guide, the 2024 Gregorian calendar year is the first potential tax period for a natural person engaging in business or business activities.

The FTA stated that if a natural person conducts business or business activity in the UAE in 2024 or later years and their total turnover exceeds AED 1 million in that year, they are considered a taxable person and must register for corporate tax by March 31 of the year after the year in which their total turnover exceeds the AED 1 million threshold and fulfill all of their corporate tax obligations.

For instance, if a natural person runs a business or business activity in the UAE during the 2024 calendar year and their revenue by July 31, 2024, exceeds AED 1 million, they must apply to register for corporate tax by March 31, 2025, and then file a corporate tax return by September 30, 2025. There are many providers with corporate tax filing in Dubai, to help you with this task.

AED 10,000 will be assessed as an administrative penalty to a natural person who is required to register for corporate tax if they fail to submit a Tax Registration application by the deadline. Make sure your provider of accounting services in Dubai act at the right time.

All pertinent persons are urged to become familiarized with the FTA website’s corporate tax legislation, implementing decisions, guides, public clarifications, and pertinent awareness publications.

The EmaraTax platform, which provides digital tax services 24/7 and explains the tax registration process in a simple, step-by-step way, is where corporate tax registration is available. Additionally, the FTA released the Corporate Tax Registration-Taxpayer User Manual, which provides a detailed explanation of the EmaraTax registration process.

Those who register for VAT or excise tax can access their accounts on EmaraTax to complete their corporate tax registration application as part of the FTA’s initiatives to make tax procedures easier and more efficient for taxpayers. They will get a tax registration number for corporate tax purposes after being approved.

The EmaraTax platform is available to new users and they can register with a phone number and email address to create an account. The taxable person can choose the corporate tax registration option and continue filling out the corporate tax registration application after creating their user profile.

Applications for corporate tax registration can now be submitted through a number of government service centers (Tas’heel Centers) located around the UAE because of the efforts of FTA. You can also seek the professional assistance of the corporate tax consultants in Dubai or any other emirate to register for VAT UAE.
